PICK A SIDE

Everyone experiences times in life when you are forced to “Pick a Side.” Circumstances, situations and often demands from others can put us in this uncomfortable position.

Let’s face it, “Nobody likes to be backed into a corner up against the wall.”

Even though you don’t like it, God created you with the ability to ‘choose’ and demands that you Pick a Side.

Joshua understood that “People must be forced to make a choice. It is only when you are forced to choose that the hidden values on which you stand are truly revealed.” In other words, WHAT YOU STAND FOR SHOWS WHO YOU REALLY ARE!

Joshua finished what Moses started and completed Israel’s two part redemption – ‘out of’ Egypt and ‘into’ the promised land in fulfilment of bible prophecy. The last thing he told the people after dividing the land amongst the twelve tribes is recorded in the book of Joshua chapter 24.

“So now: Fear GOD. Worship Him in total commitment. Get rid of the gods your ancestors worshiped on the far side of The River (the Euphrates) and in Egypt. You, worship GOD. “If you decide that it’s a bad thing to worship GOD, then choose a god you’d rather serve—and do it today. Choose one of the gods your ancestors worshiped from the country beyond The River, or one of the gods of the Amorites, on whose land you’re now living. As for me and my family, we’ll worship GOD.”
Joshua 24:14-15

Did you know that the name Joshua is the Hebrew form of the Greek name Jesus? Both mean ‘Savior.’ The bible is showing us that Joshua was a typology that points to Jesus Christ. (Acts 7:45; Hebrews 4:8)

Here is what the Lord is saying to you, Believers- DON’T MISS IT!

Joshua finished what Moses started– Israel’s two part redemption ‘out of’ Egypt and ‘into’ the promised land in fulfilment of bible prophecy.

In the same way, Jesus started and will finish– the Church’s two part redemption- ‘out of’ this world and ‘into’ his promised coming kingdom in fulfillment of bible prophecy.

Israel was forced to make a choice- Would they worship and serve their false family gods, the gods of the culture or the Lord that redeemed them?

In the same way, The Church is being forced to make a choice- Will you worship and serve false family gods, the gods of the culture or the Lord Jesus that redeemed you by given his life for you on the Cross?

I can’t speak for you, but “As for me and my family, we’ll worship GOD.” In Jesus name, Amen.
